The Retreat
Join your International Birth Guides Hope & Jesse on a self care sojourn into Wild Birth. Combining Birth Comfort Skills (Instinctive Positioning, Deep Listening, Compassionate Boundaries) and delicious Self Care rituals (homemade chocolate!) for an intimate oxytocin building opportunity yourself.
DONA International Approved
This includes a DONA approved Birth Doula Training certificate, art, drumming, song, massage, yoga, sacred space holding, sound healing, blessingway rituals, alter building, supporting women's voices.

Jesse is a leader in the birth field for over 30 years, a DONA International BIrth and Postpartum Doula Trainer, Lamaze International Educator /Trainer and brings her skills as a doula, trainer, educator, speaker, writer, change agent, advocate and resource to support the creation of new models of maternity care. She’s supported thousands of families and birth workers as founder of Mother Tree International. She specializes in integrated doula care through private practice, agency models or state-wide traditional healthcare workers. She’s traveled the world training doulas and connecting with birth communities. She is a Forest Therapy Guide and a Flower Essence Alchemist.
Hope Medford
Hope Medford worked as a licensed midwife and doula, and has attended over 400 births in the U.S., Indonesia, and Africa, with a degree from the National College of Midwifery. Her approach to birth has always been natural and holistic, focused on out-of-hospital care. Her specialties include massage, nutrition, movement, and waterbirth~ she has taught natural birth education in Peru, Brazil, Bali, and Scotland as well as the US. Hope is also an internationally renowned musician and facilitator.
The Setting
Set on the banks of the ocean just a few minutes outside Pahoa at a private residence with lush gardens, pond and comfortable classroom area. This is a Day Retreat so lodging is available in nearby Airbnb's or hotels.

Transportation and Lodging
Off Island Arrivals (Fly Into HILO, HI)
A Hele On bus runs from the Mo'oheau Bus Terminal to Pahoa or down to Pohoiki/Leilani Estates close to the destination 3 times a day.
We can coordinate pickups from the Pohoiki stop. Taxi from the Hilo International Airport to the Bus Terminal.
