Your Guides:
Jesse Remer
Jesse is an international doula trainer, flower essence alchemist and ANFT Certified Forest Therapy Guide. She has led women's circles for over twenty years with the intention of supporting a culture of nurturing based in the feminine principles of connection, nurturing and birth.
She is the founder of Forest Therapy PDX and Mother Tree International in Portland, OR and a visionary in the health field. She brings her skills as a doula, trainer, forest therapy guide, educator, speaker, writer, change agent, advocate and resource to support health equity in the childbearing year and women's health.
Jesse enjoys tending to her hobby farm of mini donkeys, alpacas, piggies, goats and teenagers.
Andrea Kalff
Andrea is world renowned healer, a doula midwife assistant and shaman. Born and raised in the Chiemgau/ Germany she now resides in Hawaii with most of her family (5 daughters and 2 granddaughters)
She was the first European to be initiated into Korean shamanism. She received a Naerim Gut ritual (initiation ritual) in South Korea.
For her, living as a doula and shaman not only means fulfilling the social function of interpreter and mediator between humans and the powers behind the veil of nature.
Andrea enjoys spending her Oma time with her grandchildren.
Sarah Joy Staude
Sarah Joy is a heart-centered entrepreneur who took the leap 18 years ago to move from Portland, Oregon to Costa Rica and start a business with her now-husband, Julio.
Through her expertise as a doula, student travel expert, and passionate traveler, Sarah Joy has forged a hybrid business that supports and nourishes travelers and retreat attendees in Costa Rica.
Sarah Joy is a dynamic leader and caregiver who is attentive to group and individual needs. As an intuitive and empathetic person she values stories, deep listening, and finding joy in daily life.
Sarah Joy loves to make craft cocktails and take interesting flower photos!

It's the end of a spectacular day spent participating in an intensive workshop to delve into what will help bring more balance to your life and communing with nature through a guided forest bathing
experience.
You laugh with new friends, sharing your adventures spotting sloths and monkeys in the rainforest and soaking in the healing waters heated within the Arenal Volcano.
Gazing on the verdant hills you can hardly believe that, at last, you’re here, dining at the edge of the rainforest in Costa Rica.
The rooms at Mystica each have their own private bathroom. Each room or cabin is beautifully decorated combining a warm atmosphere with comfort and cleanliness. Because of the constant breeze and fresh tropical climate of the area, air conditioning is not necessary – however each room is supplied with a ceiling fan for added air circulation. The rooms also have screened windows for greater comfort. Mystica rooms can be occupied singly or doubly. There are new mattresses to assure you a good night sleep, as well as Egyptian cotton sheets for maximum comfort. Pets are not allowed on the property.

One of Mystica’s jewels is ‘La Esencia’, the Yoga Sanctuary nestled in the forest by a flowing river.

Please note, if you are registering with a friend and don’t mind sharing a queen bed, please let us know; a discount may be available.
Payment Schedule:
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required at time of registration and 6 early-bird spaces with $500 off are available for registration by May 12th, 2023.
A minimum of $3000 (including the non-refundable $500) is due by July 21, 2023.
The balance is due in full September 15th, 2023
Cancellation policy:
Any cancellation made between your registration and July 21 will result in a loss of 50% of $1500 ($750).
Any cancellation made July 1 and September 15 will result in a loss of 50% of this $2500 ($1250).
Any cancellation made between September 15 and the trip departure will result in a total loss of funds.
We reserve the right to transfer the trip to another retreat site within Costa Rica if the trip minimum of 12 participants is not met. Trip cancellation insurance is always recommended whenever making travel plans

Mystica offers an array of wellness and healing modalities. From a wonderfully relaxing Massage, to Energy Healing and Psychotherapy sessions, you will find an opportunity to rejuvenate, balance your energies and heal with the assistance of their highly trained, compassionate practitioners.
Connect with Lake Arenal Kayaking
You will take a 2 hour Kayak tour around Lake Arenal, paddling the largest man-made lake in Central America. This is a 1 hour drive from Mystica.
Friday trip to VIento Fresco Waterfalls
This hike takes you through the jungle to four beautiful waterfalls, and offers an abundant variety of wildlife and lush vegetation.
The waterfalls are on private property and requires an entrance fee of $16 to visit.
The hike down to the waterfalls is along a well marked path consisting mostly of slippery stone steps built into the mountainside. As you make your way down the trail, you will come to a fork in the path. Make a right at the fork to get to the first waterfall, Rio Serena. This is a beautiful waterfall at 102 ft tall with a small pool and several large rocks great for photographs. There is also a restroom and changing room nearby.
